Line-Up news – Martin Schulz joins the band

Friends, today we officially welcome this fine gentleman MARTIN SCHULZ in the Disillusion family! Martin has taken Josh Saldahna’s seat and we already played an outstanding Patreon exclusive show in May together where we presented the new album! Martin fits in as if he has always been here – soooo welcome Martin!!!

And he wishes to let you know the following:

Dear friends,

I’m so happy about the honor of being part of Disillusion.

I have known Andy and Sebastian for many years from other projects, so the decision for me was made quickly. I’m really looking forward to getting involved in songwriting and seeing you live at the shows soon, to bring on Disillusion the pulse they deserve.

Many thanks and cheers !

– Martin

If you were at the show, please drop Martin a note at our socials!!  🙏

This of course also means that Josh has left the band. Already some time ago, Josh has made a decision about his family plannings that we of course understand, respect and support. Besides all the – partly insane – bureaucratic necessities one has to fulfill to become a resident of this republic, a conflict of time and resources would have been inevitable – and already existed late last year.

So we faced the crazy decision and parted ways without ever having played live together. But … it’s the right thing.

Also Josh has some words for all of you:

Hello everyone,

For a few months, I’ve been mulling over this decision, but I have ultimately decided that my time with Disillusion must, unfortunately, come to an (untimely) end.

Having moved to a new country, the realities of settling into my new home, learning a new language, tending to my growing family and so on has been unexpectedly more difficult than any of us could have anticipated it being. It has put me at a crossroads where I was forced into a position to choose where I should be investing my time and energy.

With everything going on around me at the moment, the timing just wasn’t right. Making commitments simply could not be as straightforward as they should have been for both my family and the band, and it’s just not how I like to do things, nor is it fair on anybody either. In an ideal world, life wouldn’t require more than just music to keep the lights on, but that is unfortunately not the case.

This hasn’t been an easy decision for me to make, but I truly believe that it is the right one – for both the band and myself. Disillusion has worked incredibly hard in the last few years to build up the momentum that they have gained so far and I didn’t want to hold them back. I feel that they deserve more.

I want to thank all of you for being so incredibly patient, dedicated and for the incredible support you have shown us. I will also be eagerly cheering Disillusion on from the sidelines along with all of you, and I wish them the very best of luck.

– Josh

So, thank you for everything, Josh! Your spirit and warmth and personality have enriched the band so much during the process of this new record! These are your songs as well!
