Today we have to share that Ben and Freddy are leaving DISILLUSION.
Ben has been part of the band for a full decade. Our first show together was at Rockscape Festival in 2016. It is almost impossible to take in how much has happened since then: countless rehearsals, recordings, tours, long drives, difficult moments, ridiculous moments and unforgettable concerts across Europe and far beyond.
Ben first joined us on bass, later moved to guitar and helped carry DISILLUSION through an entire chapter of its history. What we have experienced and built together over these ten years is enormous.
Fred came to DISILLUSION from a very different direction, first as a supporter and friend. He became part of the band in 2018, initially as a guest musician and later as a full member. What began through his connection to the band grew into years of shared concerts, recordings, tours and experiences. His musicianship and dedication became an important part of DISILLUSION, on stage, in the studio and far beyond.
Their paths into this band were different, but both have given an enormous part of themselves to DISILLUSION. We are deeply grateful for their dedication, musicianship, friendship and everything we have shared.
We fully respect their decisions and wish Ben and Freddy nothing but the very best for everything ahead, with their families, their work and whatever comes next.
Their personal words are shared below.
For DISILLUSION, this marks the end of an important chapter. We carry everything we have shared and learned together forward.
All currently announced DISILLUSION live dates will take place as planned.

BEN’S STATEMENT
Below, you can read Ben’s personal statement in full.
After a full decade with Disillusion, the time has come for me to step down and make room for the next chapter.
Looking back, we’ve covered an insane amount of ground since the restart. Switching from bass to guitar, recording new material, and playing stages across Europe and overseas shaped me deeply as a musician. Connecting with so many dedicated fans and making real friends on the road was easily the best part of this ride.
However, committing to the demands of extensive touring schedules no longer aligns with my work as a guitar instructor and my family life. It’s time for me to shift my primary focus toward teaching and local musical projects.
A big thank you to the band for the shared journey, and huge respect to everyone who supported me along the way. I wish Disillusion nothing but the best for the future.
Take care,
Ben
FREDDY’S STATEMENT

After many great years, I’ve decided to step away from Disillusion. I’ve been part of this band since 2018, first as a guest musician and later as a full member. I’m incredibly grateful for all the tours, concerts, experiences and moments we shared along the way. I’ve had the privilege of playing incredible shows all over the world and sharing the stage with so many amazing bands. I’ll cherish all of these precious memories deep in my heart.
At this point in my life I need to put my focus on my work as a doctor and on my role as a father and husband.
A huge thank you to Andy, Ben, Robby and Martin for their trust, support and for everything we’ve shared. A very special thank you to Robert Bretschneider for his patience and tremendous support.
A heartfelt thank you to all the fans for the wonderful conversations and encounters over the years. It meant a lot to me to share our music with you and to meet so many amazing people on the road.
I wish Disillusion all the very best for everything that lies ahead. Thank you for everything.
Freddy.
