One thing you can always expect from us is a certain depth in our music – both musically and emotionally. After we released our “comeback” single ALEA, we quickly realized that if Andy continued juggling his regular studio work along with writing new Disillusion material, it would take forever to finish a new album. Plus, we weren’t sure if we could reach the level of musicality that both we and our fans really wanted.

So, we launched a crowdfunding campaign to help cover Andy’s living costs while he focused entirely on writing and producing new Disillusion material. This means supporting essential things like rent, health insurance, and other daily expenses that allow him to dedicate himself fully to the band.

To give you an idea: Back to Times of Splendor took about 18 months to write and produce, Gloria took even longer, and The Liberation was no different. That’s 18+ months of full-time work and personal sacrifices that are hard to put into words. And just to be clear, this isn’t a complaint – it’s a choice we make. Andy wants to create this kind of music, and it’s a commitment we all share.

On top of these living costs, there are also additional expenses related to the campaign itself – things like platform fees, transfer charges, the conversion from dollars to euros, and reward costs for our supporters. When all these costs add up, it comes to about €2,400, which is roughly $2,600.

We are incredibly grateful for all the support we’ve received. It has made a huge difference, and without it, we wouldn’t be able to do what we love.

It would have been great if The Liberation had secured the financial self-sustainability of the band, but then came Covid. We only played five shows to support the album before everything went into lockdown. So, in March 2020, we turned our focus to AYAM (2022). This album was written during the pandemic, a time when live shows were nonexistent, and the world felt uncertain. With the live performance side of things on pause, it gave us the chance to really dive deep into the music and explore new ideas. The result was a more introspective and atmospheric album that truly reflected that strange time in all of our lives.

Now, in 2025, we’re diving into the creation of Album No. 5, and we need your support to make it possible! After all these years, the process of creating and producing music with the level of depth and detail that we strive for hasn’t gotten any easier. It still requires all of us to put in countless hours, energy, and sacrifices – and it’s something we wouldn’t trade for anything.

The journey of making music that means something is a long one, and we’re so thankful that you’ve been with us through this ride. As we work on the new album, we’re reaching out to all of you once again. Your continued support, whether through the crowdfunding campaign or just by sharing the music and spreading the word, makes all the difference.

You’ve probably already realized that our main focus is on creating a complete album – 60 minutes of playtime, as you’re used to. The thing is, with streaming services and other changes, the release structure for rock and metal bands has also evolved, and you’ve all experienced that. Today, many singles are released ahead of the full album before it drops. However, we’re sticking to the approach of linking our Patreon campaign to the production and release of a complete album, meaning a period of about two years.

The problem is, we can’t just release the first single in two years and then drop more songs over the following months before the album is out. This means that songwriting and promotion must happen simultaneously for a while, even while the album campaign is still ongoing.

At this point, there are no exact plans yet on how the songwriting, singles, and album releases will unfold. But as soon as we have a clear plan, our Patrons will be the first to know.
